Qualification

  • Previous experience in school-age care and/or degree in a related field
  • Management and supervisory experience preferred
  • Proven leadership abilities when dealing with staff, and families
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Demonstrates the ability to supervise staff and implement policies and procedures, and respect confidentiality

  

Responsibility

  • Maintaining an environment that ensures children’s safety and well being
  • Supervising children
  • Supervising staff, evaluating and monitoring
  • Leading staff regarding daily program curriculum/activities
  • Assisting Program Coordinator with hiring, training and staff orientation
  • Maintaining a positive and productive relationship with staff, colleagues, and direct supervisor
  • Maintain accurate records; staff schedules, safety drills, time-clock logs, attendance, incident reports, sign-in/out forms etc.
  • Maintaining effective communication with families, and the community
  • Assisting with purchasing and maintaining a monthly budget
  • Conferring with families on behavior, health and general development of children
  • Establish a positive and professional relationship with the building principal and other building personnel
